Peer Review Process

All papers submitted to the International Conference on Islamic Finance and Banking Education (ICIFBE 2026) will undergo a structured selection and peer-review process to ensure their relevance to the conference theme and scope, compliance with submission guidelines, originality, and academic quality.

ICIFBE 2026 applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.

Desk Review

All submitted papers will first undergo an initial assessment by the ICIFBE 2026 Scientific Committee. At this stage, submissions will be evaluated for their compliance with the conference submission guidelines, relevance to the conference theme and tracks, completeness of the manuscript, originality, and general academic quality.

Papers that do not meet the basic requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or may be rejected without proceeding to external peer review.

Peer Review

Papers that successfully pass the desk review will proceed to the peer-review stage. Each eligible paper will be evaluated by qualified reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject area of the submission.

The reviewers will assess the manuscript based on criteria including:

1. relevance to the ICIFBE 2026 theme and conference tracks;
2. originality and significance of the research;
3. clarity of the research objectives or questions;
4. appropriateness of the theoretical and methodological approach;
5. quality of data analysis and discussion;
6. contribution to Islamic finance, banking education, halal industry, sustainability, or related fields; and
7. clarity, organization, and overall academic quality of the manuscript.

Reviewer's Recommendation

Following the evaluation, reviewers may provide one of the following recommendations:

Accepted — The paper meets the academic and conference requirements and may proceed to the next stage.

Accepted with Minor Revisions — The paper is potentially acceptable, subject to minor corrections or improvements requested by the reviewers.

Accepted with Major Revisions — The paper requires substantial improvement before it can be considered for final acceptance.

Rejected — The paper does not sufficiently meet the academic standards, scope, or requirements of ICIFBE 2026.

The reviewers' recommendations will be considered by the Scientific Committee in determining the final status of each submission.

Revision Stage

Authors whose papers require revision must address the reviewers' comments and submit a revised version within the deadline specified by the ICIFBE 2026 Committee.

Authors may also be required to provide a response to reviewers explaining how each comment or recommendation has been addressed in the revised manuscript.

Failure to submit the required revision within the specified period may affect the paper's acceptance and inclusion in the conference program.

Final Decision

The revised paper will be re-evaluated to ensure that the authors have adequately addressed the reviewers' comments and fulfilled the academic and technical requirements of ICIFBE 2026.

The Scientific Committee will make the final decision regarding acceptance.

The final decision may be:

Accepted for Presentation
Accepted with Final Corrections
Rejected

The decision of the ICIFBE 2026 Scientific Committee regarding conference acceptance is final.

Presentation Confirmation

Authors of accepted papers will receive an official Letter of Acceptance (LoA) and further information regarding registration, presentation format, conference schedule, and technical requirements.

At least one author of an accepted paper should complete the required conference registration and present the paper according to the schedule determined by the Organizing Committee.

Proofreading and Final Paper

Where applicable, accepted papers intended for conference proceedings or other publication channels may undergo additional formatting, proofreading, and editorial checks.

Authors will be responsible for ensuring that the final manuscript complies with the required template, citation style, language standards, and publication requirements.

Publication

Acceptance for presentation at ICIFBE 2026 does not automatically guarantee publication.

Papers considered for proceedings, journals, or other publication outlets may be subject to additional editorial assessment, peer review, revision, and the specific policies of the respective publication outlet.
