Analysis of Asset Growth and Financing Trends of Sharia People’s Economy Banks in Indonesia

Abstract

Sharia People's Financing Banks (BPRS) have a strategic role as Sharia financial intermediation institutions support the financing of the micro sector and UMKM sectors in Indonesia. In recent years, BPRS assets and financing have shown significant growth, but their growth patterns still fluctuating due to the dynamics of nation and global economic condition. Therefore, a longterm trend analysis is needed to determine the consistency of growth as well as projections for BPRS development in the future. This Study aims to analyze trend and project the growth of BPRS assets and financing for the 2025-2027 period based on historical data from 2013-2024 and understand the pattern of asset growth and financing of BPRS for the period 2025-2027. The study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with linear trend analysis (Least Square) method. The data used are secondary data obtained from sharia banking statistical reports published by the OJK. The research result indicate that the asset and financing of BPRS have a positive growth trend in the long term despite experiencing fluctuations during certain periods, including during economic slowdowns and the pandemic. Based on the forecasting result the asset and financing of BPRS are projected to continue increasing during the period, although in 2025 there will be inconsistencies, but they are expected to trend upward again in 2026-2027. The growth patterns of both move in the institutional maturity of BPRS in carrying out intermediation function efficiently and sustainbably as a Sharia financial institution supporting the empowerment of UMKM.
