The Influence Of Diffusion Of Innovation Characteristics On Intention To Use Cardless Withdrawal At Bank Syariah Indonesia
Abstract
The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged the banking industry to introduce innovative services that provide greater convenience and flexibility for customers. One such innovation is the cardless withdrawal feature offered by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), which enables customers to withdraw cash without using a physical ATM card. Although this feature provides an alternative mechanism for cash withdrawal, its adoption remains an important issue to examine. This study aims to analyze the effects of diffusion of innovation characteristics, namely relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability, on students' intention to use the BSI cardless withdrawal feature. A quantitative approach was employed involving 406 university students in Purwokerto as respondents. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that relative advantage, compatibility, trialability, and observability have positive and significant effects on intention to use cardless withdrawal. In contrast, complexity has a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, all five diffusion of innovation characteristics significantly affect intention to use the cardless withdrawal feature. The adjusted coefficient of determination is 0.102, indicating that the model explains 10.2% of the variance in intention to use, while the remaining 89.8% is explained by other factors outside the research model. These findings indicate that users' perceptions of innovation characteristics play an important role in encouraging the adoption of digital banking services.
