Financing Models For New And Renewable Energy Through Islamic Banking In Indonesia

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic banking in addressing climate change by providing financing for New and Renewable Energy (NRE) in Indonesia. Previous research has shown that securing funding for green finance, particularly in the NRE sector, is one of the key challenges. This study will analyse the implementation and associated challenges, and subsequently formulate solutions and models for NRE financing. This study employs the Analytic Network Process (ANP) approach, focusing on two Islamic commercial banks and drawing on the opinions of experts from both regulatory bodies and the industry. The research period runs from June to September 2025. The research is expected to produce a model for the financing of new and renewable energy. This model will be beneficial to the public in enhancing financial literacy, as well as to academics, practitioners, their respective institutions and regulators
